Sidetracked

Every year in November I start with the best of intentions to make Christmas decorations, cards, gifts, etc....and it seems every year the same thing happens. Rather than dealing with the mess on my quilting room floor, I step over it or around it.

Chloe is waiting for me to get in there, and get to work. but this month I have been sidetracked and distracted. I started working on a quilt that wasn't even on my "to do" list, just because...but starting Monday I will have lots of time as I made a very difficult decision to leave my job. I loved the job but the environment was poisonous and I was tired of dealing with it every day. It was starting to poison my personal life and I refuse to allow that to happen. I will be looking for another job, but maybe not right away. I am feeling a little emotional and wrecked, so crafting and quilting will help. It is my therapy, and I really need it right now.

Here's to a happy healthy productive week!

Good for you! I wish I could quit my job, but I'm staying there for the health insurance. I loved it for two years, and then some drastic changes were made.... I was depressed and in denial all summer, but now I'm crafting like crazy, and it really is great therapy. I hope you can find another really great job when you're ready. In the meantime, there's fabric, and thread, and more fabric . . . . .

Too bad that you had to be in a situation like that at work but good for you for making the decision to get out of there before it could poison you. No job is worth that. Have fun with all your craft time!

Good for you for doing what you needed to do. Sometimes quiting is the right answer. Not only will your crafting be therapy but so is crafting partner (who loves to snore on top your projects - just too cute!) Sorry that you had to quit, but hopefully and God willing you will find a much better place soon.

Oh Anne - so sorry to hear about your job, but excited that you'll be enjoying some time off! Ah, my sewing room could use a good cleaning too - can't wait to see pictures - maybe they'll inspire me (smile)!
