More Cutting and a Birthday Celebration

I have pulled out all my Thimbleberries fabrics and am cutting out Whirligig from Miss Rosie's Spice of Life Quilts. It is perfect for a scrap quilt, and finished cutting it out today.
I also finished cutting out Serenity and intend to start sewing it together in the next few days. I have been on a cutting frenzy the last few weeks- not sure why, but now have many projects cut and ready to go. Part of my plan to start and finish projects and make use of the scraps as I go along.

It was my birthday last Friday, but it was very low key this year. Tony had a 30 year high school reunion, and so Dana and I had dinner together and then I did some sewing. Dana gave me this beautiful note paper in a box that I just love. I am a note maker, so it is perfect. Neil came for dinner Sunday night
and Tony BBQ'd a salmon, so we had a little birthday celebration. Neil is getting me some lilies for my garden but they come from a lily specialist and won't be ready to be planted for a bit. Tony and I agreed no gifts to each other this year (until he is working!) so that is fine with me. I have mostly everything I want anyway...my family, my hobbies, my health, and a very good happy life.

Happy Belated birthday Anne! I love the Whirligig. I just got my book this week and I have been drooling over which one to make first. I think the cover one will be it.
Happy Sewing!

Happy Birthday! Ssometimes low-key is the best. I have the fabric that you're using for Serenity. I've finished one quilt, and have another in mind to use with all my scraps. I'll be looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.

Look at you go - those quilts are going to be SO pretty! And, a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you! Love the paper - and I can't wait to see the lilies! You're so right - the family, health, friends, happiness - so much more important than stuff!
