Bloggers Quilt Festival

It is our first long weekend of the summer and it is pretty chilly out there. Gardening seems to be out of the question, so I am surfing the net...
...and Chloe is sleeping downstairs, away from the rest of the family.
This is my quilt that I am showing in the Bloggers Quilt Festival. It is a Thimbleberries design called Cottage Flower and I made it in 1996. Quite a few of my first quilts were Thimbleberries designs , but this is my favorite. The reason this quilt is one of my all time favorites is because of the fabric I used. I love red in a quilt and with sunflowers as well, this fabric pictured below is my all time favorite fabric and I wish a I had purchased yards more!

This was an easy quilt to make and to this day it is well used and loved. It is the quilt I go to on a cold day to cover myself while reading or watching TV, and my family knows it as "Mom's quilt". It is starting to show wear, and I have done a few patch jobs on it, but I will use it until it is in rags.
