Spring Sewing Party

Update: 4:00p.m. This is my last post for the day as I need to shower as we are invited out for dinner. Wearing my workout gear with a sweaty head and a linty black fleece somehow wouldn't be appropriate...this is the other project I have worked on this afternoon. It is from allpeoplequilt.com and was made with fabric from my stash. There are just 4 baskets to make, but about 2,000 flying geese for the border. That won't even get started today...
I hope everyone had fun today and it is so nice to make new friends that love to quilt. I will touch base tomorrow with everyone's blogs and respond to emails. Have a productive evening and hope everyone felt today that spring is coming soon!

Update: 1:50
I'm off the treadmill after listening to a little Bon Jovi, Amy Winehouse, Johnny Reid, Lady Antebellum, Bruce Springsteen, etc...and feeling rejuvenated. I am having a snacky type of lunch in my sewing room, so off to start a second project. More later...

Update at 12:15
Above is a quilt I have started to make with Panache, and it is a lovely line to use for a spring quilt. The pattern is from McCall's Quick Quilts most recent Feb/March edition. I chose it as I liked the way the Layer Cake was cut to utilize the fabric without waste. I have the blocks started and have gone as far as I can until I get the fabric to make the cornerstones. The fabric is coming from Kelly, and likely will arrive next week. I also like the name of the quilt- "Celebrate the Day". That's what I am doing today!
Now I am going to jump on the treadmill and then back to the sewing room. I'll eat lunch in there, and get another quilt started.
Good luck everyone! How is your day going??

9:45- we are back from breakfast, and I may never have to eat again...so, the coffee is on, and
the sun is shining,
and the day is young. Let the sewing begin!

We (Charming Guys and Girls)are having another virtual Sewing party this weekend on Saturday. I am going to make a wall or table size quilt for spring. I plan to start around 9 a.m. and will stop around 4 p.m. as we are going to visit friends for dinner. I have my project cut out this time which will help with the shortened day I will have. It happens to be my 1988 Olympics baby's birthday but as she is turning 22 we are not involved so much with the party celebrations...we'll just have a meal of her choice on Sunday night.
The last sewing party was truly so much fun so I am looking forward to this one!

Oh I am so glad you will be able to join us at the party. Happy birthday to the DD. I too have to leave the party a bit early but here in Canada we have a head start so I should get quite a bit done. See you tomorrow.
