Meet Baby! She is oh so sweet, and I can't wait to figure out how to utilize every button on that machine...Since yesterday I have figured out how to wind a bobbin, thread the machine, and sew a 1/4 inch seam! That is good for now. I just want to stare at her! I am very lucky to have her, but I saved long and hard, and it will be worth it! She was on sale, but I was having an anxiety attack in the quilt shop as I thought about the purchase. Tony is just so supportive too, as he said he knows "how happy quilting makes you, so just enjoy it!" OK, I will....
But first a little eulogy for Ellie. She was a work horse, and did well for I would guess thousands of sewing hours. I made little girls dresses, shorts, kids pj's, curtains, placemats, table napkins, and even a little boy's winter coat complete with snow pants. I made my first quilt on her... sniff....In the past year she slowed down some, and has had some health issues. I am going to keep her to use for crafts as she can't even be sold for parts. Thank you Ellie, and Hello Baby!!!

Oh i know the feeling the sam thing happen to me. I was tempted to buy a bernina too but the agent is 5 hours drive (well that my excuse anyway). I know what you mean about the price tag but imagine all the lovely things you'll be able to make for the next 50 years!!!
It will take a little while to get acquainted with your new friend...it will be worth it though. I purchased the 820 in October, and it took me 4 days before I actually got brave enough to try and thread her :)
Enjoy!
Wow! She sure is pretty!
Oh Anne that is my next purchase! I love it! love it! love it! Enjoy your new friend. I can't wait to see all the beautiful projects that are going to come on Seize the day!
I am so happy for you . You deserve it!

Congrats! I purchased a 440QE late last year and it's fantastic! I was floored when the dealer brought it out as I thought I'd have to wait a couple of weeks to have it shipped. I wasn't mentally ready!
